"But if nostalgia means the powerful recollection of strong emotions — and a regret that such feelings are no longer present in our lives—then I plead guilty." - Julian Barnes "The Sense of an Ending"
Sometimes we get caught up in past experiences, places we no longer live in or people we are no longer together with. We love what we used to have, not so much what we have right now, because we know we used to be happier in the past. We indulge in nostalgia and get depressed. And somehow it feels like we have the right to do so. But the truth is that we have made our choices and taken our decisions. Our own decisions and choices have led us to where we are today. And still, we forget about that and feel that the mere fact that we used to be happier in the past gives us the right not to make the best of our present.
